Your Initial Chiropractic Consultation

The main goal of your first visit is for your chiropractor to learn more about you and your health goals. It will be a 30min appointment, and will consist of a comprehensive history and physical examination. In some cases we may need to send you for x-rays/scans to gain more information about the nature of your complaint, and how best to help you. If you have previous reports or scan results, it is important to bring this along with you.

If you have a Medicare care plan, bring your referral and Medicare card with you.

If you have a DVA referral, bring your referral and DVA card with you.

Your chiropractor will discuss the findings of the initial examination with you, and discuss the various treatment options available to you. In most cases, treatment will commence at the first visit. If you have any queries or concerns about treatment then your chiropractor will be able to discuss this with you. You can visit our chiropractic section to find out more about treatment and the types of conditions we can treat.

This is a question often asked, and sometimes difficult to answer. Your chiropractor will be able to give you an estimate based on national averages, but it ultimately comes down to several factors. These include: age, level of fitness, how long you have had the problem, working conditions, posture, underlying abnormalities, how regular you receive treatment and whether you do the stretches and exercises as recommended. Generally, best results are achieved by sticking to the exercises and keeping your clinic appointments as recommended by the chiropractor. It is common to have more frequent appointments in the beginning, and then as you improve, less frequent appointments.

We treat patient for a wide range of conditions and diagnoses.  Please visit our Services for an extensive list of conditions and diagnoses we see patients for.

Generally imaging is not initially required, however this is dependant on examination findings at your first appointment. If we think x-rays or scans are needed, we will discuss this with you in detail.
